Checklist #454, unlabeled bridge group between Section 39 FACES and Section 40 BOMB (see photo-0437 note). POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY (publication), American, 22 x 17 1/4 cm. First Yoichi Okamoto plate in the checklist (a grep of data/photographs.csv this session returns no prior ‘Okamoto’ photographer row). The canonical spelling of the photographer’s name has NOT been cross-verified against any fetched source this round. The PDF page 24 image (read this session) prints the entry verbatim as ‘454 Austria Yoichi Okamoto, POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY, American 22 x 17 1/4’. Note the nationality is printed as ‘American’ despite the Japanese given/surname — preserved verbatim per the checklist’s nationality convention (cf. the src-moma-exh-0569-master-checklist key-excerpts note: ‘'’American’’ is the checklist’s own nationality convention when the photographer was a U.S. resident at the time, including photographers who emigrated and were naturalized’). Section assignment to sec-hardship-suffering-war per photo-0437 note (structural inference, not a printed section assignment).
